Corporations have tremendous influence over economies, societies, and individual lives like never before. Such an unprecedented influence requires robust legal protections against the abuse of corporate power. Our research on corporate governance, control, and accountability contributes to discussions on policy decisions and regulatory reforms as we assess the protection mechanisms available and propose regulatory changes when needed.
This research theme includes the protection of consumers and the market from abuse of economic power with a specific focus on economic goals (e.g., ensuring consumer welfare and increasing economic efficiency) and non-economic goals (such as environmental objectives and wider social benefits).
Our research engages with national and international legislation and policies as well as regulatory bodies.
